CollabNet Desktop 2.0 - New and Noteworthy

The emphasis on the 2.0 release has been support for TeamForge 5.3 and the new Dynamic Planning capability.

A list of known issues has also been posted and will be actively maintained. Also, be sure to see the New and Noteworthy features for the 1.10.0 release.

CollabNet TeamForge

TeamForge 5.3 Full support for TeamForge 5.3 was added, including the 5.3 SOAP SDK. This is the first release of the desktop to target a newer SOAP API than the old SFEE 4.4 API. The desktop still fully supports SFEE 4.4 SP1 and later. To accomplish this we introduced a new custom API layer that abstracts the TeamForge backend. So the desktop talks to the custom API layer and the API layer talks to the appropriate SOAP API version based on the version of TeamForge on the server. This allows us to introduce new features that only exist in newer TeamForge versions. Of course if you are connected to an older version of TeamForge those new features are simply not exposed to you.

Project Plan Editor In support of the Dynamic Planning feature of TeamForge 5.3, we have introduced a new Project Plan Editor that allows you to graphically manage your project plan.

Project Plan Editor

Features of the plan editor include:

  • Drag and drop artifacts from backlog to planning folders to assign scope.
  • Drag and drop artifacts to manage dependencies. Dependencies are shown visually in a tree-structure.
  • In-line editing for assignment, priority and efforts.
  • Rapid creation of new artifacts within the plan.
  • Integrated burndown chart as well as open/closed and open by priority.

Custom fields in Tracker Queries Tracker queries have been updated to include support for custom fields when the scope of the query is a single tracker. The Found/Fixed in Release fields are also available in queries within a single project or tracker. This feature is also supported against earlier versions of TeamForge on the server.

Custom Queries

Multiple values in Tracker Queries Tracker queries can support multiple values for a single field. For example you can make a query that selects all artifacts that are Priority = 1 OR Priority = 2. This feature only works against TeamForge 5.3 servers.

User Interface improvements In support of the new query features, the UI for defining queries has been completely redesigned. In addition, closed artifacts are now shown with a strikethrough font throughout the UI, priority colors are shown when possible and the new custom tracker icons in TeamForge 5.3 are displayed throughout the UI.

CollabNet Subversion

Subclipse Subclipse has been updated to the latest release with support for Subversion 1.6.6.

CollabNet Lab Management

Dependency Refresh Updated to the latest versions of dependencies, such as the SSH Terminal and Eclipse 3.5.
